Personality: Strong minded and noble. She will stand up for what she believes is right no matter whom or what is standing up against her. She tends to be a bit stubborn (which is an understatement) and will argue to prove her point no matter the defense. Father: Ivan Volkov. Born in northern Russia, he took a position in the British Ministry of Magic in the Department of International Magical Cooperation. He was an Ambassador from Russia and it was his duty to work with the British Ministry during the first war with Voldemort. There he met Alana Stark, a young British woman working as an Auror. The two hit it off and eventually married. They had three children Ivan, Daniel, and Tatiana. Ivan and Daniel went to the Durmstrang Institute in Bulgaria; all Volkovs for generations have attended the Institute for their magical instruction. Tatiana chose to attend Hogwarts because her mother, Alana, attended the school as did her entire family.
Both her mother and father are Pure Blood Wizards.
Initial Hogwarts Background:
Tatiana received invitations to both Durmstrang and Hogwarts on the same day. Her mother Alana had seen no problem in sending her two sons to Durmstrang. The Institute is highly regarded in the Wizard community so she was pleased to send them there, however, in her heart she wanted them to go to Hogwarts (especially since they lived in England). When Tatiana decided to attend Hogwarts Alana was elated! At the end of their traditional summer holiday in Russia Tatiana and her parents picked up all of her school supplies and went back to England just in time to hop on the train and speed off to Hogwarts! Upon arrival at the school Tatiana and all the other first years were ferried across the lake and ushered up into the Great Hall. Everything was such a blur to Tatiana that she hardly remembered the trip! But what happened next was something that she could never forget! In the Great Hall the first years walked down the center isle and in front of a small platform, on which a low stool and an old hat sat. One by one the students went up and put the hat on was sorted into a house. There were only a few students and finally she heard a “Tatiana Volkova”. Tatiana walked up to the stool, head high, almost like she was going to the gallows (“That proud stubborn streak apparently runs in the family” she heard the head master say, “Her mother was the same way.). Tatiana calmly allowed the hat to be placed on her head and then she heard it whisper, just loud enough for her to hear; “Hmmmm you are the Volkova girl… There is no debate here….GRYFFINDOR!!!” Tatiana nearly jumped out of her skin as the hat shouted and the cheers rang up from the Gryffindor table. As soon as she sat at the table with her new housemates she realized that this was going to be the start of a wonderful seven years!
